Meet the Scientist
The science centre becomes a forum for researchers to engage in dialogue with
the general public.
Together, EPSRC scientists and The Association for Science and Discovery Centres member institutions are:
- developing scientists' skills and confidence in engaging the general public in dialogue
- providing opportunities for groups of the general public to find out about EPSRC-supported research - the issues it raises and its implications in their lives
- providing the local science centre as a welcoming, informal venue for these dialogue events.
Skills workshops were held in Autumn 2004 at Life science centre, National Museums of Scotland, and the Oxford Trust.
Skills workshops were held in January/February 2006 at:
- National Museums of Scotland,
- Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester,
- and the Oxford Trust.
Watch out for 'Meet the Scientist' events at:
- W5,
- Techniquest (Cardiff),
- At-Bristol,
- Life science centre (Newcastle)
