Volunteer Awards 2024
Now in it’s third year, The Marsh Trust and ASDC Volunteer Awards celebrate and share inspiring examples of volunteer contribution and impact within the science centre and museum sector.
As educational charities, volunteers play a key part in helping to deliver the wide range of activities and events to engage all ages in science and STEM, supporting with community engagement, school workshops and gift shops throughout the year.
Culminating in a ceremony at the ASDC Annual Conference dinner, the awards have been created to give everyone a chance to show their appreciation for those who go above and beyond, generously giving their time and energy to engage new audiences, and support the vision and mission of the organisation.
New for this year is the Youth Voice Award celebrating the work with youth volunteers across the sector. Many science centres and museums are working with youth groups either as volunteers, advisory groups or part of a community engagement panel and we welcome nominations for this brand-new award.
Do you work with inspiring volunteers whose dedication, passion and efforts deserve to be recognised and celebrated? Show your appreciation by nominating them for an award!
Inspired by last year’s celebration, for 2024 we’ll be hosting two awards –
Marsh Volunteer Award with ASDC
And a new Marsh Youth Voice Award with ASDC
---
About the criteria
The awards recognise achievements in three key areas:
- Impact: On the volunteer themselves/volunteer team/organization/communities
- Passion: Going beyond what is usually expected
- Inclusion: Volunteer(s) overcoming barriers/impact on the organization/engaging new audiences
Both awards are open to individual and group nominations, and nominations are welcome from all ASDC member organisations. Winners will receive £500, donated by The Marsh Trust, and will be invited to receive their award at the ASDC National Conference dinner.
How do I nominate?
