ASDC February Members' Forum: Partnerships between science centres and universities
University of the West of Scotland
Wednesday 5th February, 2-3pm.
Join this forum to explore existing and new partnerships between science centres and universities, discussing how connections can be made, what we can learn from each other and an opportunity to find out what's currently happening across the sector.
The session will explore the evolving drivers shaping university agendas and their influence on collaborations with science centres. Discussions will focus on the initiation and development of these partnerships, addressing the challenges in accessing universities as there is rarely a clear “front door” for new partnership opportunities. We will also be looking at the latest trends and key terminology in academic collaborations, with guidance on how to leverage these effectively.
Our external speakers, Helen Featherstone, Head of Public Engagement at Bath University, Maddy Foard, Senior Project Manager at NCCPE, will be sharing insights into how investing time and resources into nurturing academic partnerships can help science centres establish themselves as anchor institutions within their local communities.
Stephen Breslin, Chief Executive at Glasgow Science Centre, will be sharing their experiences of working in partnership with the Scottish University sector to expand STEM education and help promote public engagement with science.
Please share this event with your colleagues, we look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 5th February.
