Discussion Table: Toppling the tower: Partnering with research intensive universities
Universities can be complicated and opaque organisations but also valuable partners where both science centres, museums and universities benefit in terms of expertise, funding and much more. This discussion table will explore current engagement culture and opportunities for members of the ASDC to work with universities, starting with exploring UCL as an example but growing into a discussion of best practice for partnership, entry points and ideas of possible ASDC member: University collaboration.
Biography
Ben Littlefield (he/him) is a Public Engagement Manager at UCL, and has over 15 years experience in science communication, outreach, widening participation and public engagement at both Universities and Science Centres. Most recently he has led major cross UCL culture change projects aimed at building researcher capacity for public engagement and he believes in the democratisation of research through honest collaboration. In his spare time he collects uranium sea glass and thinks up new chemistry demonstrations.
