Panel Presentation: Coordinating STEM engagement on a National Scale: The National Climate Campaign and the Scottish Science Centre Network
This panel discussion will explore how Science Centres and other STEM engagement providers can take a joined-up approach to add value to the wider STEM sector and policy implementation. We welcome panellists from each of the Scottish Science Centres, who formed network led by the Glasgow Science Centre to catalyse engagement with climate science during COP26. We will also hear from Joanne Ward to understand the value of such networks in delivery the Scottish Government's STEM strategy.
Biography
Conor leads the evolution of Dynamic Earth’s learning and engagement programmes and manages the Dynamic Earth learning & engagement team. A Geographer by background and with an MSc in Science Communication and Public Engagement, Conor’s previous roles have included managing the Edinburgh Science Festival, leading national outreach and partnership programmes for the National Museum of Scotland and leading public, school, family and outreach engagement programmes for Scottish science centres including Glasgow Science Centre and Dynamic Earth. One of Conor’s SciComm’ highlights has been co-developing the initial phase of the Operation Earth National Programme with ASDC and sector colleagues...and of-course getting to dress up as Earthy!
