Workshop: Using the Equity Compass to support everyone’s meaningful engagement with science
Science centres and museums provide a key opportunity for people to engage with science, and it is vital to ensure that programmes and exhibitions are meaningful and accessible for everyone. This workshop will provide a taster session on using a new researched-based tool, the Equity Compass, to help move your practice in a more equitable direction. The workshop will start with a brief introduction to the tool’s eight dimensions of equity. The participants will then be invited to discuss and share their reflections and suggestions on how the Equity Compass could help develop informal science learning activities and how they might use it in their own work. This session will be run jointly with Jen DeWitt, UCL.
