Biography
An Honorary Fellow of the University of Nottingham and a chemical physicist/astrophysical chemist June's professional interests encompass teaching and learning, research, public engagement and outreach, diversity and science communication. Her early research career included positions at the C.N.R.S, University of Waterloo and Princeton University. This was followed by some 30 years at the University of Nottingham, where she retains an involvement in a number of projects within the EDI/STEM landscape. Awarded an MBE for Services to Science in 2013 she has worked on a number of diversity in STEM programs.
Her other activities include chairing the Science and Technology Facilities Council Advisory Panel for Public Engagement (STFC, APPE) , membership of the Royal Society of Chemistry Degree Accreditation Panel, membership of the QAA Advisory Group for Chemistry, Athena Swan Panel Chair and a position as Chair of the Board of Trustees to Nottingham Women’s Centre.
