Panel Presentation: Coordinating STEM engagement on a National Scale: The National Climate Campaign and the Scottish Science Centre Network
This panel discussion will explore how Science Centres and other STEM engagement providers can take a joined-up approach to add value to the wider STEM sector and policy implementation. We welcome panellists from each of the Scottish Science Centres, who formed network led by the Glasgow Science Centre to catalyse engagement with climate science during COP26. We will also hear from Joanne Ward to understand the value of such networks in delivery the Scottish Government's STEM strategy.
Biography
I trained in Biochemistry and Immunology at the University of Aberdeen where I also got a Phd in Ophthalmology. Following a few years as a researcher in molecular biology and biotechnology, I had a few years’ experience in playwork and teaching International students Biology at College. As the Head of Education and Learning at Aberdeen Science Centre, I am now overseeing our teams engagements with schools and communities. I am also responsible for our pedagogy and ensuring that our engagements are accessible, inclusive, informative and fun.
