Calling education and engagement teams! From October 2023, ASDC will be supporting regular online meetups for a space engagement Community of Practice.
The aim is to provide regular opportunities for science and discovery centre and museum professionals, alongside wider outreach and engagement organisations, to build capacity and share ideas and inspiring practice. This could be pinned on upcoming missions, or reactive to space news and discoveries, or a place to bring in external expertise or share excellent hands-on or digital demonstrations.
First session: Wednesday 13th September, 2-3pm
What will be of most value for you?
During this forum we’ll look across key dates in space for the next few years (that we know of!) and take advice on how to shape this stream of work. What sparks your audience interests and the approach that best supports your education and engagement teams? We also want you to think and dream BIG on what we could collectively do to celebrate UK space if resource and budget was less of a limiting factor!
All ASDC members are welcome to this event. A link to join the call will be sent out the day before the event, if you register last minute please email the team for the link.

ESA’s Euclid spacecraft lifted off on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, USA, at 17:12 CEST on 1 July 2023. The successful launch marks the beginning of an ambitious mission to uncover the nature of two mysterious components of our Universe: dark matter and dark energy, and to help us answer the fundamental question: what is the Universe made of?
