Inspire Fund, Public Engagement Grant, Alzheimer's Research UK
The Inspire Fund provides funding for projects that engage the public with the topic of dementia and the life-changing research going on into the condition.
This scheme is part of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s work to engage and empower the public by improving understanding of dementia and sharing the benefits of dementia research. We want to support new perspectives, talent and expertise to shed a spotlight on this important issue, and the scheme is open to anyone with the passion and skills to make that possible.
Full details on the grant can be found at their website here.
British Society for the History of Science
The British Society for the History of Science Outreach and Engagement Committee offers grants of up to £500 to support engagement and outreach projects in the history of science. We are keen to encourage projects that engage with the history of science, technology and medicine in new and exciting ways and are applicable to their intended audiences.
Please note that the OEC Project Grant is primarily intended as a seedcorn fund for new initiatives and to support small-scale projects or events. If your proposed project is part of a larger scheme of activity, please describe in your application what specific extras will be delivered by the funds from the OEC Project Grant.
Next application round closes 23rd September 2022.
Apply for funding to engage the public with STFC-supported science, technology or facilities.
Your project must involve at least one researcher in an STFC-funded area. It must also focus on an area within STFC’s remit.
In particular, we’d like to fund projects that engage:
eight to 14-year-olds, and their families, from socioeconomically deprived areas
groups considered to have low science capital.
The cost of your project can be up to £15,000 (non-full economic cost).
Projects can last up to 36 months.

The Ethnic Minorities Award Scheme for Environmental Projects (EMAS)
This small scheme is aimed at schools, community groups and individuals undertaking projects which concern the environment and involve people from ethnic communities.
This Limit Less grant scheme supports projects that:
Target the audiences prioritised by the IOP’s Limit Less campaign – families with young people under the age of 16 that identify with one or more of the following groups: girls and young women; disabled young people; LGBT+ young people; young people from disadvantaged backgrounds; and Black Caribbean young people.
Develop relationships between physics and public participants to grow beyond initial contact.
Reinforce messages being delivered by existing engagement schemes by adapting to new locations, communities or circumstances.
Build strong relationships between physics, physicists and diverse communities through co-developed and co-delivered engagement projects.
The scheme is open to individuals and organisations passionate about promoting engagement with physics.
