The Francis Crick Institute is a partnership between Cancer Research UK, the Medical Research Council, the Wellcome Trust, UCL (University College London), Imperial College London and King's College London. It is a registered charity whose purpose is to conduct biomedical research into all aspects of human health and disease.
The Crick is a world-leading centre of biomedical research and innovation, promoting connections between researchers and disciplines and between academic institutions, healthcare organisations and businesses. Dedicated to research excellence, the institute has the scale, vision and expertise to tackle the most challenging scientific questions underpinning health and disease. It is a world-class institution with a strong national role — training scientists and developing ideas for public good.
The Learning and Development Manager role presents an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced and organised individual to join the new Crick Academy team, which coordinates training, learning and development for the Crick’s scientific and operational students and staff. Working closely with members of the HR, Academic Training, and Communications teams, the successful candidate will further develop, manage, promote and evaluate the Crick’s core (non-scientific) training, learning and development programmes.
You will be pivotal in establishing and maintaining appropriate plans, processes, activities, and records for effective training, learning and development across the institute (staff groups, operational functions, teams and individual levels). You will work closely with the Head of Crick Academy to implement a comprehensive training, learning and development strategy, that is aligned with the institute’s mission.
