Centre of the Cell is the first science education centre in the world to be located within medical research laboratories. The Centre is located in Whitechapel, Tower Hamlets, East London.
Applications are invited for the post of Learning & Outreach Officer at the Centre of the Cell. The postholder will also deliver high-quality Centre of the Cell sessions inside the Centre as well as presenting workshops and science shows at the Centre and on outreach visits. Responsibilities would also include the development of new learning resources, workshops and shows.
Candidates must be able to organise a varied workload, use judgement and initiative and communicate effectively with a diverse range of organisations, groups and individuals. Excellent presentation and communications skills are essential. The post is full time and for a fixed period of 12 months. Starting salary will be £26,717 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave per annum and defined benefit pension scheme.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
