We’re looking for a Project Delivery Manager to join our Public Engagement department. In this role, you will support your colleagues in the team to ensure high-quality, timely, and cost-effective delivery of our projects.
This will involve a range of activities, such as identifying and liaising with contractors, planning events, financial tracking, and removing obstacles - and you’ll be working on multiple projects simultaneously.
You will:
- manage and ensure the delivery of short- and medium-term projects in the Creative & Partnerships team, including supporting colleagues to stick to project plans
- track project plans, monitor budgets, identify contractors and solve problems
- work with the Research & Evidence team to incorporate learning strategies in the department’s delivery plans
- support the common work of the department as required - such as contributing to the grants process through reading and triaging applications or making decisions, participating in the ongoing strategic renewal and direction-setting, and liaising with the rest of Wellcome.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
- extensive project management experience in the grant-making, academic, cultural, charitable, or social sectors
- track record of successfully delivering a variety of different social-purpose projects in the £500k+ range
- experience of commissioning and managing work undertaken by external organisations
- excellent project management skills
- strong financial management, analytical and project planning skills
- excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships across a department
- experience of social purpose delivery management in an agile environment
