To choose the 15 organisations to be involved with the Hands-on DNA project, we invited a variety of organisations to apply to participate in the project.

Members from the project team and the Wellcome Trust considered all the applications carefully to select 15 new centres to be equipped and trained to deliver either the Bacterial Evolution workshop for 14-15 year old students, or A Question of Taste for post-16 students. You can see which organisations took part in the project and delivered the workshops in late 2011 on the main page.
The panel were extremely impressed with the strength of all the applications recieved, with a broad national coverage. The panel selected organisations based on a set of pre-agreed criteria. Successful organisations were notified on 15th July 2011.
