The Association for Science and Discovery Centres (ASDC) is the vibrant charity that brings together the UK’s regional STEM learning organisations to play a strategic role in the nation’s engagement with science. Within our network are over 50 of the largest publicly accessible science and discovery centres and science museums.

Every year our members encourage more diverse participation in science, engaging with over 25 million people of all ages, genders, backgrounds and abilities. Together, our vision is for a society where science is accessible, inclusive and valued by all as a fundamental part of everyday life.

National STEM programmes

The ASDC team, together with experts from related fields, create a programme of activities that bring STEM research and discoveries to life for the next generation of scientists, engineers, mathematicians, technicians, researchers and innovative thinkers.

Funding for Explore Your Universe Valuing Inclusion

ASDC is co-developing a Logic Model that defines, guides, supports and evidences meaningful practice in values-led, inclusive STFC science engagement within our sector. Alongside this work we are running a grant programme to provide evidence to support its development. Applications are now open to apply for the grant programme

The ASDC National Conference

The ASDC national conference is a unique event bringing together national partners and colleagues within university public engagement and outreach, science discovery centres and museums who together have the power to inspire, engage and include diverse audiences and communities with science.

ASDC joins Tomorrow’s Engineers Code

ASDC has signed up to Tomorrow’s Engineers Code, a community of over 300 organisations committed to working to increase the diversity and number of young people entering engineering careers. Part of this commitment involves working towards 4 pledges; inspiring connection, driving inclusion, showcasing engineering and improving impact.

International day of women and girls in science - 11th February

Science centres and museums around the UK are celebrating Women & Girls in Science Day 2024 with a wide range of events, activities and campaigns to highlight that science is for everyone.
