Evaluator – British Steel Archive Project (Freelance)
British Steel Archive Project, Teesside University

The British Steel Archive Project (BSAP) is a three year HLF-funded project that will finish in December 2010. We are looking to award a freelance contract to a suitably experienced person to carry out an external evaluation of the project to feed into the final report.

The BSAP is based at Teesside University in Middlesbrough and is a partnership with Teesside Archives which houses the British Steel Collection. Further information can be found at www.britishsteelcollection.org.uk

There is approximately £3000 available to cover all costs of the evaluation. We envisage the work should take about 10 days in total to take place between 1st October and 30th November 2010. This should include a visit to the project office at the beginning of October for a full briefing.

Satrosphere Science Centre

Suitable for someone with a passion for science education and an interest in Curriculum for Excellence, who is looking to enter a career in science communication.

You will work in the education team, to expand our delivery of activities for schools and the public. Duties will predominantly consist of the delivery of curriculum-linked activities for schools, along with other duties as appropriate to support the smooth running of the education programme and exhibition, including development of shows and workshops, liaising with external stakeholders and quality assurance.

Science Center Development Lead (final title to be defined)
Abu Dhabi Government / Technology Development Committee (TDC)

As part of their informal science education strategy TDC are close to engage a globally renowned science center/museum partner to support the development of Abu Dhabi's 1st science center/museum from business plan through to operation. TDC are looking to recruit a seasoned professional with experience in science center development and leadership. The role is based in Abu Dhabi and reports into TDC's Science & Technology Promotion Director. It is a demanding project management job involving day to day management of local, international, external and internal stakeholders/relationships/contracts throughout the development and initial operation phases of the facility and according to challenging quality, time & cost KPIs/targets. Strong project management expertise, refined leadership & people skills, high levels of energy, passion for informal science education, and multicultural experience are some of the essentials for success in this challenging and rewarding job.
